Academic Formation: Forming the Scholar

We serve students from Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade in religion, reading, math, science, social studies, and writing.  Enrichment classes may include art, music, physical education, library, and S.T.E.M. each one day per week.

We believe it is important for the students to use a variety of tools and media to enable academic growth:  paper and pencil, tablets, computers, and manipulatives are utilized by students on a daily basis to build solid experience upon which to build their learning.  Each grade level Pre-K to 2nd is equipped with iPads at a 1:1 ratio.  3rd through 8th grades have Laptops at 1:1 for in-class use.  Each classroom has a short-throw projector and Smart Board for use during instruction.  There is a library of various topics of books in each classroom at multiple Lexile/reading levels to meet the needs of the students.

We utilize many sources of online practice, assessment, and data collection in reading, math, and other subjects:  NWEA Benchmark Assessments in Reading, Language Use, and Math; Spelling City; Xtra Math; and IXL.  These programs and applications are "leveled", meaning they match the student's ability, wherever they are, and build skills from that point.  While technology is a very timely, helpful tool, we believe that handwriting and reading paper books are important basic skills for everyone.  All technology is used at school - nothing is sent home for use by students.  We believe that technology use is one tool among many that help facilitate learning.

We partner with Fort Wayne Community Schools to serve our students with special needs in various academic and production areas. Additionally, we also recognize that helping our young people grow socially and emotionally is important to their development toward the person God calls them to be. "Jesus said, 'Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these.'" As a school our prayer is that our students grow unimpeded, in every way, every day.

Our Faculty is highly experienced and dedicated to the formation of your child both academically and spiritually.  We offer over 80 years of combined teaching experience among our faculty.  We have some who are 4th generation in this school!
